Roles and responsibilities

Your responsibilities

Under the direction of our Quality Manager, we are looking for a candidate to:

  • Organize the analysis laboratory team (priority, training, coaching, evaluation)
  • Ensure monitoring of internal and external analysis plans to ensure the release of raw materials and finished products on time and in accordance with customer and supplier specifications.
  • Be the guarantor of field analysis plans
  • Participate in the project to digitalize these controls.
  • Be the reference person for contacts with external laboratories, authorities and customers for everything relating to quality control
  • Define and respect the operating budget of the quality control department
  • Participate in the evaluation and approval of new raw materials and new suppliers
  • Participate in the evaluation and approval of sampling and analysis plans for raw materials, manufactured products and finished products.
  • Release raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products, in accordance with legislation and specifications established with customers
  • Monitor the performance indicators of your department and propose improvement actions in the event of a malfunction
  • Participate in site policies (quality, safety, environment)
  • Participate in HACCP team meetings
  • Learn about developments in analytical techniques (laboratory)
  • Write procedures/instructions for the QC department and have them approved by the Quality manager, in compliance with safety standards
  • Be present in the field and verify the correct implementation of quality procedures, in particular by respecting and enforcing the standards of the IFS/BRC/HACCP/GMP standards
  • In collaboration with colleagues, carry out part of the internal audits and/or supplier audits
Your skills

The skills required

 You have a Master's degree in agronomy or chemistry or an industrial engineer in biochemistry or have equivalent proven professional experience (5 years);

  • You master the BRC, IFS quality standards
  • You know HACCP risk analysis as a team member
  • You know the Belgian and European regulations in force for the products manufactured
  • You are comfortable with team management
  • You have easy and correct written and verbal communication in French and English (level B2)
  • You have a good command of IT tools and Office software and specific internal software (GME, PMIX)
  • You are unifying, organized, with good time management and priorities, flexible, responsive and know how to take initiatives
  • Experience in the food, chemical or pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
